One of the worst things to watch is your pet suffering from parasites, thankfully there are a number of good products that only need a monthly application and can repel ticks/fleas/mosquitoes. For outside AND indoor dogs they are a must, otherwise your pet will suffer and they'll act as a parasite carrier.
Common infestations include
Ticks - Oval shaped, can range from the size of a pencil tip to the length of a grain of rice. They are known carriers of Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted fever.
Fleas - Very thin, and very small. They have smooth bodies that help them navigate through your pets coat. They have the ability to spread disease and multiply very rapidly. The two most common fleas are dog fleas and cat fleas, despite the names they are not species specific. Rather cat fleas are more common in US on both dogs/cats and dog fleas are more prevalent in Europe.
Both can feed off of humans. |
